Le groupe Octobre et le communisme. Une mémoire reconstruite.

Abstract : An agit-prop theatrical group to which belonged Jacques Prévert, Octobre (October) lasted from 1932 to 1936. Studies of this group tend to assert its independence from French Communist Party (Parti communiste français - PCF). However, the group belonged from the start to the Fédération du Théâtre Ouvrier de France (French Federation of Workers Theatre), a revolutionary organization connected to the PCF. The present paper inquires about the actual relations between Octobre and the PCF and into the reasons why previous studies claimed that the group remained independent from the Party.
