Étrangetés éducatives : figures de l'altérité dans l'institution des princes Bourbons au Grand Siècle

Abstract : From Héroard to Fénelon, from the future Louis XIII to the Duke of Burgundy, this article discusses the presence, whether real or imagined, of the Other and otherness in the institution of the Bourbon princes in France in the seventeenth century. Even though in those times of absolutism, the royal father figure was more than ever a model of knowledge and power in educational matters, it is difficult however to associate this tutelary figurehead with the idea of Otherness, which seems to be the distinctive feature of the pedagogical relationship between master and disciple.
