Négation et référence

Abstract : In this paper two sorts of negative items are compared: negative words and negative polarity terms. These two groups are usually opposed: negative words are considered as inherently negative whereas negative polarity terms, on the other hand, are only negative in the context of negation. We shall argue that both groups have strong points in common if we consider them in the perspective of reference.
