Tennessee Williams and the Two Streetcars

Abstract

A literary criticism is presented which analyzes the 1947 play "A Streetcar Named Desire" by Tennessee Williams, focusing on its portrayal of desire and its disordered relationships with love, sexuality, and mourning. The philosophical differences between desire and need are discussed along with illustrations of their thematic representations within the play.
