Le défigement, une sorte de délocutivité ?

Abstract : This paper compares two linguistic phenomena, transformed idioms and delocutive expressions (as defined by Benveniste, 1966). From our point of view, both of them introduce a two-stepped process concerning reference: a transformed idiom can only be understood through the original idiom, which itself refers to a situation, and the meaning of a delocutive expression is highly determined by a specific utterance of the words concerned, preceding their actual use.
